Uk - Marrakech

Fly to Marrakech; meet the transport to take us to the Hotel where we will spend the first night in Marrakech.

Marrakech - Tagdilt

We leave Marrakech for a long drive through stunning scenery to Tagdilt.
We will stay in a Gite or Camp tonight.

Tagdilt - Almou-N'ouarg

Meet up with the mules and cook.

Begin the trek into the Jebl Sarhro Massif, where you can start to appreciate the true isolation and beauty of this mountain range.
Tonight we camp at a remote place called the Alamo.
6-8hrs trekking. 900m ascent.

Alamo - Igli

We will trek up onto the Taggourt Plateau, with it's 15 peaks that make up the Jebel Sarhro. Opportunity to summit Jebel Sarhro at 2575m.
Camp again tonight. 6-8hrs trekking.

Igli - Tizi n Taggourt

Trek into the Imgisse Valley. Look out for the wind and water carved flat-topped sandstone cliffs and mountians. Visit the Bab n Ali formation.
Campt tonight. 6-8hrs trekking.

Tizi n Taggourt - Hanedour

Walk through more stunning scenery of obscure rock formations.
Camp tonight in Oasis or by local school so you can interact with locals and practice your French and perhaps learn some Arabic!
6hrs trekking.

Hanedour - Zagora

A fairly easy day today as we walk for about 3hrs to Nkob where we will say goodbye to the mules and Cook. Get on the minibus to Zagora on the edge of the Sahara. Perhaps visit a traditional Hammam in the late afternoon.
Camp tonight in Zagora.

Zagora - Tinfou

Ride into the Sahara desert in true Nomad style on the back of a camel! Spend the afternoon preparing for the next stage of the trek.
There may be the option of swimming in the local area.

Zagora - Tinerhir

Travel by minibus to Tinerhir.
We stay at hotel Camping Le Lac and prepare to set off for the next trekking phase.

Tinerhir - Camp

Trekking through the Palmeraies and onto Todra Gorge and the Land of the Nomads.
8hrs trekking with steep ascent at the end of the day to camp site.

Camp - Camp

We climb onto the Plateau. There are several route options up to about 200m, depending on how energetic the Team are feeling. Visit Berber tents for tea.
Camp tonight.

Camp - Tinerhir

Trekking today back to Tinerhir. The chance to visit a carpet factory to practice their bartering!
Spend the night at the Hotel Camping Le Lac.

Tinerhir - Marrakech

Back to Marrakech for a last chance to shop. There will be a guided tour of the Souks and a traditional Berber pharmacy. See Djemaa El Fna Square come alive at night with the story-tellers and snake charmers. Time permitting we may be able to visit a Hammam.
Enjoy a meal and comfy bed in a hotel for the last night in Morocco.

Return to the UK and Home!
